We had been planning a trip to Lava Hot Springs for the weekend with his mom and sister. I was so excited because Bud and I LOVE Lava and have been there 5 or 6 times since we have been dating. Well, like an hour before we were about to leave Dee, buds mom, came downstairs to us and said "Sorry guys I have to take grandma to the doctor tonight and can't go with you guys tonight but I'll come up tomorrow morning bright and early." I thought it was a little fishy at first and then Dee did a really good job at convincing me that it was true. I felt so bad because Dee loves Lava as much as Bud and I do and she had been talking about how excited she was for it all week. So, Bud and I headed up to Lava and it was so fun but all night in the back of my mind I was thinking I might be getting proposed to tonight. When we got to lava and got to our room I was so dang tired I just fell right asleep. Bud actually was planning on proposing that night but I was a party pooper and was so tired and went to sleep to early.
The next morning we went to breakfast at our favorite little restaurant in Lava and Bud kept saying we should go up to the park. It was the middle of winter so like any normal person I said it was way too cold haha. Bud kept trying to convince me that he always loved the pictures we took up there and we should go. I was an idiot and wasn't really catching on and said that we had taken a ton of pics on the way up and last night when we got to our room and they were all of just our faces so we should wait till his mom got there so she could take some pics of us at the park.
So, after I ruined that idea we walked around and shopped for a little bit and decided we wanted to go get into the hot pots. When we got there it was really busy and Bud was going to try to propose in the hot springs. He didn't want to do it in front of anyone so that was a bit of a challenge. We kept moving around and I still wasn't even aware of what bud was trying to do. But, everywhere we kept going someone awkward would come sit by us or we couldn't really find a spot were we were alone. So, eventually Bud gave up on that Idea too. We got ready and I kept asking where his mom was because she was supposed have been there a long time ago. He just kept saying he didn't know where she was and that she probably slept in or something.
Bud started to realise he was running out of time and he needed to do something else quick or I would catch on about his mom and put two and two together. There is this little ice cream shop in Lava that we love to go to everytime we are there and he thought of proposing there. So, he asked if I wanted to go and get ice cream and I was so excited and actually cooperative for this idea. So, we walked down to the ice cream shop and it was shut down for the next week for an event. Bud was so upset and I was trying to figure out why he was so sad. I was confused because it was just ice cream haha Bud doesn't even really like ice cream that much. So, I said we should just go to the grocery store and get some ice cream and we can just take it back to the room and eat and play games.
We went to the grocery store and I asked why his mom still wasn't there, he texted her and asked what was taking so long. She text back and said she had gotten a flat tire. I was so surprised and felt so bad and told Bud she is having the worst luck and that it was really weird. Bud realised I was starting to get suspicious and that it needed to happen now. So, we walked back to the room and I walked in first and said something to him but I don't remember what I said. I turned back around and looked at Bud and he was on his knee :) :) :) It was an unforgettable moment he was so cute. We called all of our parents and they all said "FINALLY!!" Except for my mom Bud couldn't tell her he was going to propose that weekend because he knew that she would give it away, which she admits she probably would have. Overall it was one of the best weekends of my life and I'm so excited to spend the rest of my life with Budly. Haha I know this post was mushy mushy but guess what I just got engaged I get to be a little mushy :) Here's some pics from the trip...
